Rancho Palos Verde
This backyard landscape in Rancho Palos Verde plays into the homes terrace hillside. A unique condition of this home is that is partitioned by two streets. From the street steps rise up to twenty feet from the street level to the whimsical dry creek bed that leads to the back door entrance. Along the way rows and groups of natives and grasses add playfulness to the landscape. A focus of this landscape is to use recycled or local materials. Wood is refurbished to be used as part of the dry creek bed to create wood bridges along the dry creek bed. Branches are carefully placed through out the landscape to give it a natural feeling.
